All of Vinpower’s Optical Disc Duplicators can accommodate the largest available 8TB HDD’s
The fact that an 8TB hard drive exists is quite amazing, given that magnitude of the content that could be stored on that drive. So the fact that all of Vinpower’s optical disc duplicators, manual towers and autoloaders, can utilize the 8TB HDD to store projects/jobs, is also an impressive feat. It’s also fair to think, why would anyone need such a large HDD inside a duplicator.
When you think about the fact that content is getting larger and larger, for instance, UHD/4K content could be over 100GB per disc, then it’s easy to see how a user would need a much greater amount of space to store each project for future duplication jobs. Couple that with Vinpower’s new Blu-ray Copy Protection (BCP) feature, where the protected files would need to reside on the HDD to make additional protected copies without requiring additional licenses, and the amount of space needed could add up quickly.
Regardless of whether you’ll need an 8TB HDD for your duplicator or not, the key is that Vinpower strives to stay ahead of the curve and is constantly expanding the boundaries of what’s possible for our duplication hardware.
Vinpower’s exclusive standalone Network and Copy Connect features are compatible with the latest Apple Mac computer iOS 10.10 (Yosemite) & 10.11 (El Capitan)
Vinpower was the first to offer a true drag and drop feature in 2010 for our Standalone duplicators so that users could connect their duplicator to a computer and drag a file from the computer to the duplicators internal HDD. From there we advanced the capability to make this feature available via the network so a company could easily send files from any number of computers or a network server to the duplicator’s HDD. At first this was limited to PC’s only, but after much effort, we were able to offer this feature for those particular to Apple products, in particular the Mac users.
However, computer operating systems are continuously being upgraded to provide new features and make them stronger against viruses and hackers. This benefit to the user creates a legitimate problem for companies that make hardware that interacts with the operating systems in order to allow the computer to work with or function through the device. That’s especially true with Apple and their limited access to their iOS. Vinpower recognizes the importance of making sure all computer users can utilize the key features of our exceptional duplicators so we continue to manage our FW updates to ensure the Drag and Drop and Network features also work with the latest Mac iOS versions.
With that said, Vinpower is proud to announce that our Network and Drag and Drop features will work with the current Mac iOS 10.10 (Yosemite) & 10.11 (El Capitan).

Vinpower is the only Controller manufacturer that supports drive firmware updates for all optical disc drives on the market today.
Vinpower has established itself as the premier manufacturer of standalone duplication controllers, especially for optical discs. We were the first to offer a wide range of unique and useful features and we’re still developing new helpful features, particularly for heavy duplicator users. While our competition is either leaving the industry or significantly reducing their offerings and capabilities, Vinpower marches on to ensure that we still provide the exceptional quality and range of features and options that we have become known for.
One of the key features that is critical, especially for heavy duplication users, is the ability to update the optical disc drive’s (ODD) firmware (FW) directly through the duplicator’s controller. Currently, Vinpower is the only controller manufacture that offers this feature, which supports all internal ODD’s that are available on the market today. Unfortunately, today’s ODD’s tend to see more glitches and bugs than previous years, this is mostly due to the low cost nature of the ODDs and the manufacturer’s limitations in time and resources to provide as wide of range of test as previously performed before releasing the drive onto the market.
Most of the bugs are related to media compatibility or other easily correctable issues, but in order to correct the problems, the user must upload the latest ODD FW. For those with duplicators using a non-Vinpower controller, that means you have to remove each drive, connect them to a computer, and update them one by one. That’s fine if you only have a small handful of drives. But if you have multiple duplicators with 10 or 15 drives in each one, then that process is going to be difficult and time consuming. With the Vinpower controller, you can update all the drives in the duplicator simultaneously in minutes without removing any of the drives. That saves a tremendous amount of time and hassle, keeping you focused on duplicating rather than updating.

3D HUBS – This trend report provides a comprehensive and unmatched perspective on the current state of the 3D printing industry. Based on data from our 3D Hubs community, which includes over 25,000 printers in over 150 countries, and thousands of 3D print orders every month, we are excited to show you the printers people love and what’s trending in the world of 3D printing.
Insights: Average Order Value per Material
New year, new addition to our monthly Trend Report! From now on, we’re listing the average order value for common 3D printing materials.
It turns out general purpose plastics make up the least expensive orders, as the average order size stands at $34.3 for ABS and at $31.4 for PLA. Resin prints – which are still printed in most cases on desktop printers – have an average order value of $50.7.
The next 3 materials are all printed on industrial 3D printers, and along with the increased price and material costs, the order values are higher as well.
Selective Laser Sintered (SLS) Nylon orders are on average just above $80. PolyJet high detail prototyping materials are next, with an average value of $93.4 per order. Concluding our list is Full Color Sandtone, with an average order value of just below $100.
