Primera Bravo Blu-Ray Models

NEW! 12x BD-R DISC PUBLISHERS – NOW WITH LIGHTNING-FAST eSATA.

Starting this month Primera is integrating Pioneer’s BD-205 Blu-ray Disc recorder into many of it’s disc publishers. This drive has up to 12x burn speeds and supports CD-R, DVD-R and both 25GB and 50GB BD-R media. The burn speed on 12x BD-R media is so fast – equivalent to about 352x burn speed on CD-Rs – that they had to change the interface from USB 2.0 to eSATA. USB 2.0 is 480Mb/second. eSATA is up to 3Gb/second, or about 6.25 times faster. So, eSATA can easily handle the ultra high speeds required by this latest Blu-ray Disc recording technology.

eSATA requires some new hardware and cabling that doesn’t fit on all models. Going forward, Blu-ray Disc recorders are available exclusively on these Primera disc publisher models:
